Progressives are the reason for the rise of Poilievre’s popularity

Pierre Poilievre has a good shot at being the next Prime Minister of Canada because voters are increasingly abandoning parties that support so-called “progressive” ideology.

Progressives need to understand that the way they feel about the F*ck Trudeau crowd is the same way many regular Joes and Janes feel about, for example, the education administrators and politicians who refused to call out an Oakville Trafalgar High School teacher who, in alignment with her trans identity, wore ridiculously gigantic prosthetic tits into the classroom. Or about the left’s penchant for conflating ideas they don’t like with actual violence. Or about masked antifa “protectors” committing violent acts against pretty much anybody who refuses to pledge fealty to the cause-du-jour. I could go on.

I’ve never voted Conservative, and I’ve supported progressive causes my entire life. But I’m feeling increasingly disillusioned with and distanced from my peeps over modern progressive canon.

I plan on exploring some of my objections in future entries. But in the mean time, and as a bit of a teaser, I leave you with a few thoughts:

  • In my lifetime, we’ve gone from “Sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me” to “Words are literal violence.”
  • Children may not consent to sex, are prohibited from consuming alcohol, are ineligible to vote, yet we encourage them and allow them to make life-altering decisions about their gender care, providing them with dangerous hormones and surgeries based on a simple request. And it’s considered an act of hate if we question the appropriateness or wisdom of these actions.
  • Reason and critical thinking and nuance, principles that were once highly regarded in political discourse, have been supplanted by tribalism and sloganeering. On Xitter, there is not much difference between the “F*ck Trudeau” folks and the “I stand with Trudeau” folks when it comes to blind faith in the cause.
  • If you call those who don’t share your political views fascist, then you don’t deserve to be taken seriously. Take a history course.
  • Both Justin Trudeau and Jagmeet Singh have become toxic to the survival of their respective political parties. Rightly or wrongly. And it may be too late to do anything about it.
  • Even ill-educated and boorish simpleton Doug Ford who is arguably causing irreparable harm to Ontario, has achieved one or two positive things during his time as Premier.

Thanks for visiting. À la prochaine.
